    Dear All,

Could Ya explain what is practical meaning of "Thermals&Transitions" in Settings/Training/Legs Type?
If I choose this and open the track nothing changed...

    Regards,
    Marek

    Hi, Marek,

    Thermals&Transitions
    are expressions from aviation.
I'm not expert for it but afaik thermals describes areas with temperature difference were e.g a paraglider can ascent(or descent).
"Transition" seems to be usually used as a word for transitions through different altitude levels.

Anyway it's primarely interessting for paragliders and so.

Afaik you have to activate 3D mode( and you have to customize the toolbar with the tools for thermal and those for transitions) and the track/flight must have the needed data like temperature(for thermals).
I didn't tested it in Sportiva only with land.

In Land/Air Manual is a short section where you may find some additional information (16.2 thermals and transitions)

It is exactly what I want to get, but... for mountain bike track. During a ride in the mountains I pass several hills and a few valleys...
Is there a way to draw legs separately for uphills and separately for downhills, with use of "Transitions"?

Could you be more precise, what tools are needed?

The tools are called in CGPSL "view flight parameter" + "view flight thermals".

These tools are not available in Sportiva.
And meanwhile testing it on Sportiva it didn't get it working anyway.

For further testing , i think best is, that you first search for an example flight track in IGC format which should include all necessary informations and look if it works in CGPSL.

    P.D

Meanwhile i tested it with paragliding IGC files which works well in CGPSl but without any noticable effect on Sportiva.

    Update:
FYI: it's reported to and confirmed by Compe
