    Predeterminado Storage Memory Low....

    Hello all...

I have purchased a second hand Aventura that seems to choked up with unnecessary files.

I always get the "warning free storage memory is low" message

    Upgraded
    V3
    OS 1.3.60
    Build 5442K0

Can anybody tell me what should be there and what I can safely remove. I am open to any suggestions.

    Hi,

    1. create a backup of actual state
backup the whole storage card-drive to your PC, so that in case anything goes wrong you might restore the last state.

    2. separate saving of important files
    2.1 save your licence keys
in fact, if you have done 1., the keys (*.mkeyb;*.mkey) are already backuped but might be better to keep them on a separate place.

    2.2 save your settings
    - setting files(gps*.ini;gps*default),
    - your favorites + last destinations(*.gwpt),
    - hard key settings(TwKeys.cxml=>only available if you change the default key settings)
    - last loaded data => default.cjt

    3. check if there is a recycler for that drive
might that the drive is backuped by a recycler. So every deleted file let him grow and reduces available space oon that drive.
    Empty that recycler.
MAC-Systems also leave some files (which don't belong to Twonav and are not needed )on the drive which can reduce available space.
    You have to delete them.

    4. Cleanup \Twonav folder
might be that there are some superfluous files, left by former Updates.
You can do this manually by comparing with content of an Twonan-Update.zip of Aventura from here =>http://en.compegps.com/updates/,
or delete all files(!!! only if you have done 1.!!! and unzip the update-zip-file here.
Than you have to copy your licence-files(*.mkeyb;*.mkey), setting files(gps*.ini;gps*default), your favorites + last destinations(*.gwpt), hard key settings(TwKeys.cxml=>only available if you change the default key settings)

    5.Cleanup\Twonavdata folder
at least nobody knows if there are any data you wanna keep.
Usually there are only backups of licence keys, POI-files, may be tracklog + backup of tracklogging(trash) and some demo-datas.
Anyway let the directory structure as it is.
=>storage card\Twonavdata\POI custom POI only will be red from here not from sd card\Twonavdata\POI.

Data like tracklogs, waypoints, maps you can move to sdcard or delete them if ou don't wanna keep.
Licence keys , POI i would leave them where they are.

    6. check folder settings
to prevent that Twonav fills up your storage with tracklogs + trash, it's better to set the path to sdcard.
You can do it via Settings>system>folders

    Gruss
    regards
    saludos
    cordialement
