Predeterminado [solved] Looking for a source of elevation map for LAND 7/8

    Hi,

    I've Land 8.
I've installed the CDEM for France (France_HighResolution.CDEM in my case).

In some cases, the elevation is wrong.
I've a typical example on a lake. When the map is displayed in 3D, the surface of the lake is OVER the level of the banks.

    This is in France @ 48°21.314'N ; 993°53.863'W (WGS 84)

The banks are about 220m and the "surface" is more than 300m in some places.

See the attached screenshot of what I get on LAND8.

TwoNav support says the problem is not with LAND but with the map.
Do you know if there is a reliable source of elevation map that can be imported in LAND ?

    Regards

    Jean-Luc

    Hi
    Jean-Luc,

you can try the data from EUDEM => http://www.eea.europa.eu/data-and-maps/data/eu-dem

If you don't want to create the CDEM out of this data by yourself,

a user from an german forum already created them:

    Hi Gert,

Thank you for the quick answer.
I've downloaded the files from the German forum you told me (I don't know how to convert the files to get a format suitable for Land).
This was a bit long (I've a dsl line with about 2.5MB download rate..) but everything went fine and it is working.

Before asking to the forum, the support told me to try from here: http://www.cgiar-csi.org/data/srtm-9...-database-v4-1
But I get separate files and not embedded ones (e.g. srtm_35_02.hdr, srtm_35_02.tfw, srtm_35_02.tif) but LAND cannot manage this format of relief files.

I suppose the file I've downloaded via Land/TwoNav has a sign mistake somewhere and the representation would be the lake bottom.

    Thank you, best regards

    Jean-Luc
