Predeterminado Far/Near zoom settings not available

    Hi,
found out, that (unlike in CompeGPS Land) on Aventura the settings for far/near zoom (map properties) are deactivated.
Unfortunately map details of VMAPS (e.g. Europe West) appear too late for my liking - which means, that I have to zoom in very far (300 m) to see all map detail.
This is disturbing for my eyes, beacause at this point you have no overview any more.
In CompeGPS Land maps react nicely on every change of settings of near zoom (default value is 12000 m, where you see literally nothing, but always visible brings map detail very soon).
On Aventura near zoom is locked to 12000 m, which surpresses merely all detail informations needed.
Does anybody know a solution for this?

    Kindest regards,
    ron

Have you tried to save a CLAY and upload it into the Aventura??

    Have a look:

    Hello CpA!

Great idea, i did not know that.
Is it similar to a Garmin .TYP-File?

Do you (or CompeGPS) have a customized otimized standard CLAY, which you could share with us?
Is it also possible to change zoomlevel (i currently have no cGpsLAND avaliable) - So i can also see all streets on 5000m zoomlevel?

It would help us saving time. Thank you!

it would be impossible to see all roads at 5km scale. It would be like a birds nest.

That depends on the area where you are using the Aventura.
London-City-Center will not be the area i need 5km

As you are from Australia, i am sure, you know areas with only a few roads.
Therefore at 5km it would be very useful to see all roads that are avaliable.

    Hi CpA,

your idea sounded great ... so I tried it immediately (although this ment that I had to purchase CGPS Land first - now I am an owner, but not a happy one).

I tried to modify the "near zoom" settings of the "center of settlement" layer of Greece.vmap.
First switched all the smaller settlements to 500m/pixel - saved to .clay - closed and restarted CGPS Land.
    No effect, situation unchanged.
Then I switched all to "always visible".
    No effect again.

Then I copied Greece.vmap plus the last created .clay to Aventura.
    No change at all.

So I guess you will agree, that changing zoom settings in layer properties do not take any effect.

Besides - even if it worked, I'd call this a humble work-around.
We should have direct access to zoom level/detail visibility dependencies on Aventura.
(I have to admit, that - coming from Garmin's GPSMap 60 Cx, where adjustment of detail level is quite comfortable - I am a little bit disappointed about Aventura's behaviour.)

Hope, this will become reality by some future software update.

    Regards,
    ron

PS: Software version of my Aventura is 2.0.1
Version of CGPS Land is 6.8.2
    Kindest regards/Herzliche Grüße,
    ron

    Hi freeday,

    streets can found at "Communications".
The categories differ from those of the Navteq world.
    Kindest regards/Herzliche Grüße,
