Predeterminado Loading KMZ/KML files into Aventura

I would like to load an airspace map into my Aventura.

I can download one from here: http://www.notaminfo.com, but it is in KMZ format.

Is there any way to load such a file into CompeGPS/TwoNav as a map instead of a collection of tracks?

    Cheers

    Tony A.

    Predeterminado KMZ Attached

I have attached an example kmz file downloaded from notaminfo, which contains an airspace map.

(To upload it I had to change the extension from kmz to zip. You can either rename it back to kmz, or as a kmz is simply a zipped kml, you can extract the kml.)

    Thanks

This kind of vector maps are not supported by Compe (yet)...

You could open it with GlobalMapper and export it as mp, for example, that it could be opened by compe...

Then you could compile it as mpvf and send it to Aventura...

Here I've uploaded an example with your map...

I just open the kml with GlobalMapper, exported as MP, opened with Compe, and save it as MPVF without another work...

With a little work, you could have a pretty map with this information...

    Best regards...

Predeterminado Close, but not quite there

Thanks for this. It shows that it is possible, but as I understand it, Global Mapper costs $300.

Do you know of any free or inexpensive programs that can convert KML to something CompeGPS will load as a map?

    Cheers

Yes, you could use GvSig software.
    http://www.gvsig.gva.es/eng/inicio-gvsig/

You need the last version (1.9)... Have a try...
